Just a quick note: Good news for everybody having multiple shops at Shopmaker. From now on you do not have to switch the shop entirely to manage you other shop, but you can open multiple tabs and manage them side by side.
If you’re managing only one shop at Shopmaker nothing changes for you, except this: What about opening another one? 😉
Great news: You may now connect your Twitter account to your shop at Shopmaker.
After your setup at Twitter we’ll tweet updates from your shop right to your stream. You may even select the segments from which your tweet is composed. We’ll also tweet as clipspool_com when a collection from you is published at clipspool.com.
All this you’ll find in your shops’ social media settings.
The locales shown are now customizable. All German speaking merchants get ‘German’ in addition to ‘English’ so they may enter their texts in both languages. You can even change the order of the languages in the preferences.
We’re also able to auto-translate your content to English now. Just leave the english text fields empty and we’ll translate them in no time.
If you’re not speaking German you’ll no longer see the german input fields and get less distracted.
New: You can now show featured updates in your shop so they do not drown in you big pool of other updates:
Just enable this in the Shop preferences: “Show featured collections at the ‘Updates’ page”. We’ll pre-fill your featured updates with up to 20 collections ordered by sales and rating counters. You can promote single updates by settings their ‘Featured’ flag.
As you might have noticed there’s a new section “Newsletters” in your merchant interface. So from now on you can send newsletters to your clients to re-attract them to your shop. Often clients buy a membership, enjoy your content but then forget about it. A newsletter is the best possibility to get them back. Our friends from jocobo.com get their best conversation rates using newsletters so just give it a try. Of course every email includes an unsubscribe link since we do not want to spam.
Some things have to be done in advance, especially regarding your domain (setting some extra DNS records) so please contact us to get the instructions on how to prepare your domain.
It’s a feature many merchants asked for and now finally it’s ready: You can now add custom images (posters) to your collection previews.
Just go to “Show collections” and click any “Edit preview images” link. There you’ll find a new button “Drop new images here”, from where you’ll be able to add new images. So from now on you’re no more limited to images you find in your media but can add single images later.
As always: Please provide feedback if this does not fit your workflow or there is something not working as expected!
Many shops have already been converted to the new look & feel. In the course of the transition, new features are also being implemented that make your life easier or offer new possibilities.
The latest development is a world map in the dashboard of the merchant interface, which visualizes worldwide sales. The more sales you have in a country, the darker the country will be displayed. You can zoom in on the map and if you hover the mouse over a country, the sales are displayed as a number.
With this tool, marketing campaigns can be planned better and their success can be easily tracked.
